How to watch the Oscars live in your home via video conferencing
On the same day that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded Best Picture nominations for Best Picture, Univision Communications announced that it would be showing the Oscars telecast live online in its homes via video conference.
The company announced its move to video conference on Monday.
The company’s VP of Internet and mobile services, Matt Wills, said in a statement: “Our live streams and events will now be accessible to millions of people, all across the globe, through our video conferences app.
We’re thrilled to work with Univision to deliver our viewers the Oscars Live event.”
While Univision has yet to officially announce its live stream plans, the announcement comes after Univision executives earlier this month announced the launch of a partnership with a third-party provider that is currently in its early stages.
Univision, Univion Communications, and its content partners also recently launched a new video content platform, VideoBoom, and are working with a host of digital content companies to offer new video-based content.
