IGN is reporting that Sony is in talks with Activision to create a new sequel to the popular Call of Juarez: The Cartel.

The report cites sources familiar with the matter who say the companies are in advanced talks for the project.

A representative for Activision declined to comment.

The next installment in the popular franchise will be released in 2017.

The last time Call of Dutys was developed as a second game was in 2011, with a sequel in development at Electronic Arts.
