Sony and Activision both in talks for a sequel to Call of Duty
IGN is reporting that Sony is in talks with Activision to create a new sequel to the popular Call of Juarez: The Cartel.
The report cites sources familiar with the matter who say the companies are in advanced talks for the project.
A representative for Activision declined to comment.
The next installment in the popular franchise will be released in 2017.
The last time Call of Dutys was developed as a second game was in 2011, with a sequel in development at Electronic Arts.
The series’ last installment was released in 2010.
The sequel will likely be based on a different engine than the first game, with Sony and EA both developing their own engines.
