Blue Ridge Communications says ‘we will continue to support’ NBA player Kevin Durant
Blue Ridge Communication has signed a contract with Durant’s agent Scott Boras to represent the Thunder player in the wake of his decision to return to the Warriors, ESPN reports.
The Warriors announced Thursday they would be extending the five-year contract with the franchise’s star guard to 2020, meaning Durant will become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Blue Ridge confirmed to ESPN on Thursday that Durant had agreed to terms on a new deal.
The contract will pay Durant a guaranteed salary of $18.9 million, and it also includes a player option for 2020.
Durant was expected to make a decision on whether to stay with the Warriors on Tuesday, but he was advised that he had “decided to come home.”
The Warriors signed Durant to a five-day contract extension in January, after he signed with the team in November 2014.
He averaged 18.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists last season.
